Urban Nest Concept Beirut: A New Design Destination in Lebanon

Urban Nest Concept Beirut: A New Design Destination in Lebanon - Urban nest

    Janaika Elders |

    A Natural Connection
Over the years, Urban Nest has grown into more than just a showroom in Dubai. It has become a space shaped by people, collaborations and a community that continues to inspire us every day. Through that journey, Lebanon has always been close to us, through family, through friendships and through the many Lebanese clients and partners who have supported urban nest over the years.

The idea of creating something in Beirut did not come from a single moment but rather developed gradually through conversations and shared experiences. After working together on multiple residential and commercial projects, our collaboration with Mixalis Khoury naturally evolved into something deeper. We realized that we shared a similar approach to design and a common appreciation for spaces that feel personal, warm and full of character rather than driven by trends.

    A Shared Vision
Mixalis, who is originally from Lebanon, is a Dubai-based interior designer and artist known for creating soulful and sensory environments. His work often blends Lebanese heritage with modern influences, drawing inspiration from 1970s design and focusing on layered textures, earthy materials and soft lighting to create spaces that feel comfortable and lived-in. His work has been recognised across the region, including being awarded 2nd place in the People’s Choice Award at Dubai’s Top 50 Homes.

As our collaboration grew, so did the idea of creating something together in Lebanon. What started as a conversation gradually turned into a shared vision to develop a concept that would bring together our different perspectives and experiences. With my background in building urban nest in Dubai, focused on curated European brands and a design-led retail experience and Mixalis’ instinctive and emotional approach to interiors, the intention was to create something that felt unique to Beirut rather than a replication of what we had already done.

    Building Through Challenges
Urban Nest Concept Beirut was created as a result of that shared vision. It is a space that reflects both of our influences, while also responding to the context and character of Beirut itself. The goal was to create a concept that feels elevated yet approachable, curated yet personal and above all connected to the city.

The journey to opening was not without its challenges. Like many projects in the region, there were moments of uncertainty, delays and questions along the way. However, we continued to move forward step by step, guided by the belief that this was a project worth pursuing.

    A New Chapter in Beirut
Today, we are proud to have opened the doors of Urban Nest Concept Beirut.

The space introduces a curated selection of European brands, building on urban nest Dubai’s position as the exclusive distributor of brands such as HKLIVING, which is now also available in Lebanon. In addition, Urban Nest Concept acts as the exclusive retailer for brands such as Audo Copenhagen and Ferm Living, bringing a new and elevated design offering to the Lebanese market.

More than a retail space, Urban Nest Concept is intended to be a place where people can explore, connect and find inspiration. It is designed to serve both individual customers and the wider design community, including interior designers, architects and hospitality professionals working on projects in Lebanon.

This project is also deeply personal for both of us. For Mixalis, it represents a connection to his roots and a space he has shaped with care and intention. For me, it reflects a long-standing connection to Lebanon through family and community, and a natural extension of the Urban Nest journey beyond Dubai.

Looking back, this is not a story that was planned in detail from the beginning, but rather one that developed organically over time. It is a story of collaboration, trust and shared vision, and one that we are very proud to now bring to life in Beirut.

We look forward to welcoming you into the space.
