About our founder

Janaika Elders, a Dutch businesswoman, entrepreneur, founded Urban Nest in 2017 to bring high-quality, unique and sustainable accessories and furniture pieces to the UAE. With a background in Economics and a successful career in supply chain management for international FMCG brands, Janaika has the advantage to effectively manage and run Urban Nest.
Urban Nest was born from a simple idea: home should feel personal, unique, and full of stories: "When I was designing my own space, I struggled to find décor that felt different from what I saw everywhere else. I didn’t want a home that looked like a catalogue, I wanted pieces that reflected personality, creativity, and individuality. That’s how Urban Nest began."

Her passion for interior design and home decorations led her to notice a gap in the market for unique, one-of-a-kind pieces in Dubai, inspiring her to create a brand that offers curated collections of products that stand out of the ordinary and made in small quantities.

Urban Nest is the exclusive distributor in the Middle East for design brands such as HKliving, Hubsch design, Swedish Ninja, Kalager and Oi Soi Oi reflecting Janaika's objective to work with brands that are ethical and produce one-of-a-kind products.
