We have been keeping this one under wraps for a little while, and we are very excited to finally make it official: urban nest is now an official reseller of Louis Poulsen in the UAE, bringing some of the most iconic names in Danish lighting design to our Dubai showroom.
And for us, this partnership feels like a very natural fit.
Danish design, with a little more personality
Louis Poulsen has been part of the Danish design story for generations, creating lighting together with some of the world's most celebrated designers and architects, including Poul Henningsen, Verner Panton and Arne Jacobsen.
What attracted us to Louis Poulsen was not only the history behind the designs, but how relevant they still feel today.
At urban nest, we have always loved mixing styles. Vintage with new. European design with pieces collected on travels. Something quiet next to something colourful. We believe a home becomes more interesting when everything doesn't match perfectly.
Louis Poulsen fits beautifully into that philosophy.
Many of the lamps have a strong retro character, but they don't feel stuck in the past. Their sculptural shapes, beautiful light and, of course, all those colours make them incredibly easy to combine with the eclectic interiors we love at urban nest.
A Louis Poulsen lamp can sit next to a vintage cabinet, above a contemporary dining table, on a colourful side table or amongst art and objects collected over the years. It doesn't need to match. It just needs to add something.

From Copenhagen to Dubai
Our relationship with Louis Poulsen became even more special earlier this year when our founder, Janaika, visited the Louis Poulsen showroom in Copenhagen during 3daysofdesign.
It was an opportunity to step into the world of the brand, learn more about its history, understand the thinking behind the different lighting designs and receive training from the Louis Poulsen team. Seeing the collection together in Copenhagen also confirmed exactly why we wanted Louis Poulsen at urban nest.
There is so much heritage behind the brand, but there is also playfulness, colour and personality. These are design classics that don't have to live in very serious interiors. They can be mixed, moved around and used to completely change the feeling of a room.
Meet some of the icons
One of the designs we immediately fell for is the Panthella by Verner Panton.
Originally designed in 1971, Panthella has become one of Panton's most recognisable lighting designs. Its soft, mushroom-like silhouette is instantly recognisable, while the curved shade and trumpet-shaped base work together to create a soft, atmospheric light.
At urban nest Dubai, you can discover the Panthella Portable and Panthella table lamps in a selection of colours. We particularly love the portable version because it can move around the home with you, from a bookshelf or coffee table to an outdoor dining setting or terrace.
Then there is the iconic PH collection by Poul Henningsen.
Henningsen developed his famous multi-shade lighting system almost a century ago, designing the shades to distribute light softly and reduce glare. Today, the PH lamps remain some of the most recognisable pieces of Danish lighting design.
You'll find a selection of Louis Poulsen PH pendant lamps at urban nest, alongside other decorative lighting designs including the colourful Doo-Wop pendant.
These are pieces that do more than simply light a room. They become part of the interior.
Lighting can be the finishing touch
We often talk about furniture, art, rugs and accessories when decorating a home, but lighting can completely change how a space feels.
