Over the past few weeks a lot has been happening behind the scenes here at Urban Nest. Our team has been working extra hard in brewing some new ideas for our customers and the community and we have worked on creating special spaces in our showroom just for you!
First things first, we wanted to welcome Doing Goods into our Urban Nest family! The newest addition is no exception, we’ve been eyeing this very popular Dutch brand for quite some time now. Doing Goods "the world's most lovable home accessory brand!" is 100% handmade and sustainable homeware company based in the Netherlands and with the team of craftsmen in India.
The Doing Goods artisanal collection of fun and one-of-a-kind accessories fits perfectly to our selection with their handmade animal rugs, brass goods, and throws inspired by the traditional techniques and artisanal crafts of India. Although their goodies are mostly made for the home, their beautiful cotton throws can be used to style your outdoors this season too!
One of our favorite items from this brand is the Faina Throw. Handmade and printed with carved wooden blocks, this throw is so versatile, you can use it indoors and outdoors. Perfect for an outdoor picnic, beach session or even your next family barbeque! Style it with some HKliving Matt white porcelain vases and the HKliving Athena Ceramic Dinner Plates. Complete the table with some contemporary glassware from Puik, the Rare Vase and Radient Crystal Glasses will tie it all in together!
Block printing is one of the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing, with everything being hand-made, all Doing Goods products are “wabi sabi”- imperfect things, with their own unique stories.
The Pink Leopard Throw is also another one of our picks, more specifically because you can see the hard work put into the block print, each detail showcased and also it’s diverse look! Feel right at home at Urban Nest, we created a new hang-out space for creatives and entrepreneurs, a homegrown concept store, coffee shop, co-working and event space all entwined in one! Just like a nest, our vision is to create a cozy and comfortable space for everyone. Whether you’d like to have a meeting with your client in the downstairs coffee area, simply work quietly in the upstairs mezzanine floor, or even if you are looking for a cool space for a pop-up or an event, we’ve got you covered! You will find it all at our Vertical Design Showroom in Al Quoz.
Work From The Nest – The ultimate place for creative professionals, remote workers, and entrepreneurs, where you will find a quiet, comfortable workspace with a sense of community. The seating spaces are perfect for collaborative conversations and overlooking the shop from above for the ultimate inspiration ideas without being closed off. A homey environment provides calm and productive atmosphere. The best part? The space is free of charge with free internet!
Vertical Coffee - the newest coffee spot in Dubai, serving your favorite organic coffee sourced from Peru, in line with our founder’s heritage. Sip on a variety of drinks from Flat Whites to Espresso Macchiatos, as well as Tea and a delicious Nutella Hot Chocolate, with a dash of regular, almond or oat milks served in unique handmade HKliving ceramic mugs while catching up with an old friend or even have a meeting with your client!
Coffee options range from AED 12-22, with options of regular, almond or oat milks. 4 spaces available.
Events Space, Mezzanine and The White Corner – The newest space to host your event or pop-up! An open floor plan of 50m2 Mezzanine space and The White Corner areas for any kind of event from workshops, to talks, even photoshoots or pop-ups!
The White Corner is 4x3m fully customisable. Prices range from AED150 per hour to AED3,200 per month.
Full Mezzanine Space is 50m2 fully customisable. Prices range from AED250 per hour to AED2,000 per week.
The Cube – A creatives area. Whether you are a creative director looking for a beautiful space for your new campaign, or an influencer looking to create content amidst a striking setting or even an artist wanting to do live painting. We thought of you!
The Cube area is designed blank and available to be customised with our décor and furniture pieces from the interior shop. The space features light and airy look designed to be customised for your imagination!
The Cube is 2.4mx 2.4m fully customisable. Prices range from AED150 per hour to AED3,200 per month.
