International Women’s Day: give your home a feminine touch

International Women’s Day: give your home a feminine touch - Urban nest

Ingeborg Bruinewoud |

On 8 march we celebrate International Women's Day. A day we celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the world. But also a reminder to raise awareness for women's rights, with this year's theme: #ChooseToChallenge. We believe a challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.

Start small

First of all, we believe that you achieve a lot by being kind to yourself and to each other. So why not start with your own home? Make your home your home by adding a feminine touch to it or make someone else happy by surprising them with a beautiful and thoughtful item. Wherever you start, these items will make any home warm and cozy.

Adding a feminine touch to your home

A feminine touch can transform your home decor for good, and for better. Let’s homage the elegance of feminine taste. And what better way to do this than with new 20/21 HKliving products! We wrote down the three main keywords: uniqueness, elegance and femininity, for you below.

1. Uniqueness

Every woman is unique and beautiful, just like your interior. Therefore, take the time to find timeless and unique centerpieces for your home. This can be a bench, artwork, cushion but also a parasol. Make your interior special and unforgettable by adding your uniquely selected item.

Looking for inspiration? The new Doris for HKliving collection has many rare items that embrace this theme.

2. Elegance

The feminine charm can be expressed through the use of soft and subtle shades. Think of pastel colors and light nuances. By using these colors you can give your interior more depth but at the same time make it more complete.

Tip: Adding a deep brown color in your interior for example, a sofa or chair, will provide harmony and elegance. In doing so, choose a velvet texture to add extra softness.

3. Femininity

Soft and curved lines are often associated with femininity, since they evoke harmony, equilibrium and tenderness. They will allow you to express your personality as round shapes are easy to combine, and it is fun to seek for a unique shape that fits your home.
